The cherry red shrimp is a great freshwater aquarium addition. In this photo the color contrast is superb. It's the first time I noticed just how long their antennae are. They perform a tremendous amount of cleanup of algae although they can be rather large waste producers. You'll only notice this if you have light gravel or areas in your tank. I had a piece of black filter foam in the tank to raise the level of beneficial bacteria in the filter media when being replace. Shrimp love it and also netting.
