This is my 30g, the only "real" planted tank I have. This tank contains a black lace angel, 6 glo-fish, a female betta and a flying fox...oh also a very small pleco. I am trying to remove the flying fox as it has become rather nasty.
BTW, this pic is a little old. My camera is dying so it's hard to get a decent shot but just imagine the plants have grown in alot more and that breeder thing is gone too ;)

Looks good. I don't see many people that use that type of substrate, it's different.

No, it's not pea gravel, just a regular gravel mix. Might look odd because of the camera being so old and dying, I don't know.
I really need a new camera but I spend the money on other things like filters, and food...

Isnt regular gravel mix called pea pea gravel or am i mistaken? Maybe I am using the wrong word but the gravel looks like small river rocks.

I've always thought of pea gravel as the really small gravel, about 1/3 the size of regular gravel.

Yeah, that pea gravel is great (just wash it first) I used it in my old 29 Gallon tank. Also cheap substrate that works well is Play Sand from Lowes (like $5 for a 50lb bag), again needs to be washed first.

I guess I am the cheap one on here. I would rather buy from Lowes then the LFS.
