I was FINALLY able to buy some filter cartridges for 55 gallon today. These are what I'm using.

I was able to actually fill my tank and get it up and running. Here it is at its current stage of development. Bland I know, but I'm working on it as money allows.

Not quite sure just yet. I know it'll be a community tank. With 55 gallons, I've got plenty of choices. I'm going to be adding a second filter. I want to keep this thing crystal clear.

I'm not sure. I bought it from my neighbor. It was down in his basement for a while. He said he bought it from a friend for $50 and never did set it up. He just got him a 75 gallon tank and sold me the other for $50. I when I bought it had the tank, light, and filter (no cartridges).

I'm going to put in some live plants, an air figurine, and there's a castle very similar to Hogwarts that I want for it. I may have to rethink the castle option though, it's kind of pricey at $45 at the pet store. I may see what walmart has.

I like the natural looking tanks and IMO the fish prefer it too.

Yep, it's a show tank. I looked it up. I finished decorating it today. Here's what it looks like now. I actually got to put fish in it today too. Two dozen feeder guppies, four zebra danios, and two male and female swordtails. This was taken before the fish.

    Re: Tank Update

Thanks! I may have said it wrong. The swordtails are one male and one female. The feeder guppies are mainly to help cycle the tank. In a couple weeks I plan on getting bigger fish. Not sure what kind yet though.
