75- 125 stand

    i have a 75 gal tank that i bought new with a stand. i have been given a 125 with no stand. i wonder, if i were to glue a sheet of painted fiberboard that is the dimmension of the 125 on top of the 75 stand and brace it up with 4x4s, would it hold up to the weight of the 125. andy ideas?

    Not sure if this helps, but I believe the 90g stand was only rated for 55g

    If you are going to try and add to the stand then it would just be easier to build a stand out of 2 x 6 and 2 x 4 lumber. Would only take a day and to make it really nice you can wrap it in plywood and stain it. I make all my stands.
