Hi all. I will be stocking my 75g after the holidays. I plan to get some CA from Jeff Rapps.

Probably five fish or so. I like the Thorichthy alot. Here is my list of what to choose from. Are these fish too similar and will be too aggressive to each other? I will try to get all the same sex so no breeding probs but who knows. 2-3" fish

    Thorichthys maculipinnis
    Thorichthys “ sp. ‘Mixteco gold’
    Archocentrus centrarchus
    Astatheros robertsoni

and possibly something else. Would love a Thorichthys Aureus or Thorichthys pasionis if he can get them. Or maybe a female Nicaraguense.

    Any thought on this list??

    Thanks!!....Bill

I'm not sure if those would work well together. Some will be 4" max while others will be 8". With that and the similarities looks wise it may not be a good idea.

Hmmm. From reading I thought most would be more like 6-7".

    Thanks for the info.

I missed the "same sex" part. If you were to do that all females may work. I think the males will be far too aggressive toward one another.

Thorichthys maculipinnis females will be about 4".

    Re: Stocking 75g soon

Just a warning. A lot of times plecos don't fare too well with cichlids. They lose an eye or two and can be killed.

An upside down catfish would work, or a group of them. I haven't had any problems with them being mixed with cichlids.

:) I don't know what Gold Nugget Plecos are going for these days but when I looked years ago they were 50+ dollars. I'd hate to see anyone drop one in a cichlid tank only to have it's eyes eaten.
