Sorry to hear that. I hate mass fish loss, too. I once lost a whole school of synodontis petricolas due to a heater that got stuck in the on position. I was heartsick to find them all dead.

Sick wouldn't be the word! I think that's what is making me hesitant/keeping me away from them.

You lost ALL of them!?!? Yeah... With Discus Quarantine is critical. I know I brought the Wilds in and put them right in my display... BUT in my case the Pet Store was the quarantine. They medicated the fish when they got them in from the distributor. I will be getting more wilds and they WILL come into quarantine without a doubt!

    Sorry for your loss!

lol your parents seriously let you get a 350 gallon, they really don't care do they, i had to fight my parents so much for my 46 gall. You should totally make it into a reef, if i had a 350 gall, that's what i would do

haha lol how were you able to get it without them knowing about it? do you just have a crazy amount of wall space in your house? if so, i'm jealous. lol and for me now that i have gotten bit by the reef bug, the only other path for me to go would be expensive aggresvie fish as well or shark tank :D

I agree Steven! Freshwater is BEST!!! FOrget that reef stuff :)

You do that in a smaller tank just for fun... Save the HUGE tank for a Planted Discus tank!

Lemon knows what im talking about [sarcasm] but planted tanks for discus is hard well see i if i can pull it off xD plants+ discus just dont go hand in hand. but people pull it off so it's possible

and how i got my tank i have some wall space but this one was taller (better for discus :D )so it fit were my 55 was and she didnt know cause i baught it and my bro just helped be pick it up [rofl] [dancing] ;)

Absolutely right that plants and discus DO NOT go together well! It is the toughest project I have ever done! Not easy at all....

BUT it CAN be done! :)
