Hey, so as those of you know who have seen my other posts, i have 2 breeding pair of angels, 1 is proven... still awaiting verification on the other set. any way, i was wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks on breeding them, and ways to tell if they indeed have paired off. I have been reading up on this for a while now, so i have a good understanding of everything. Im just looking for that personal experience bit of information!

welll i had 7 breeding pairs tons of frys.....not much people wanted them....so i sold the pairs. they are really easy to breed unless u have a pair from the same mom and dad then it's hard cause eggs are smaller and frys seam to be weaker and die. if 2 unlreated pair then they frys would be stronger to triger their breeding just do watch changes i personally pulled the eggs out and hatched them myself

    the tank is 45 gallons
tankmates: 1 red tail shark, 1 pleco, and assorted mollies ( for live food ;))
water changes every other week about 20%
the pair that i am 99% sure are mates: the bigger one is 3.5-4.5 inches, and
    smaller one is 2.5-3 inches.
My other angels are all about an inch and a half to 2 inches, with the exception of one, who is refusing to eat, and i am unsure why... that one is only about 3/4 of an inch... any other info you need just let me know...

...btw i knew angels were cichlids;) dont want to sound like a HUGE noob lol... even though my questions probably are dumb lol;)

I have two pairs of breeding angels, and, honestly, I wish they'd quit! It makes them so aggressive. But, since they are breeding, I'll tell you what I do, which must make them happy! I feed a mixture of blood worms, glass worms, spirulina, and spirulina-enriched brine. Heater is set at 78, but the temp goes a little higher when the windows are open. Mine is a 110 community, nitrates are always under 20. I do once-weekly water changes of about 30%. And they won't stop breeding! You probably have similar conditions; maybe it's just your fish. Also, keep an eye out for your pleco, because he will eat the eggs if he's so inclined (the moms and dads are mean, but nothing can stop an armored catfish!). Could this be the case, and therefore, you never see eggs? I trust you have numerous vertical spaces for both pairs to lay eggs on, and not feel threatened. After that, the only thing I could think is that the male of the first pair may be threatening the male of the second pair for both females, stressing him out. Also, they may just not be mature enough! Wow, I think I've said plenty... whoops... hopefully you can pick something out of that that's useful!

most useful post yet;0! My most aggressive angel is the on that i have had in the tank since it was setup. I just added what i believe to be its mate 3 months or so ago, and i just bought the second, verified, breeding pair yesterday ( i just really wanted to observe their behavior etc etc...) Im not sure if i have enough vertical places or not... you can check my post under the freshwater picture section... i believe i have it named 45g tank, or something with 45g...its from today;) as to my most aggressive angel, he is chasing both of the other pair away from his "mate" (ill should be able to verify in a week or two;)) But he has started to "lock lips" with his pair. I have also observed all 4 of them cleaning the tank... this is all so exciting lol;)
