Well, today is day 7 of the spawn I raised (the 1st one) I cleaned the tank finally and got all of the gunk out of it and I have 8 free-swimmers that took to a pinch of frozen baby brine I gave them a few hours ago.

Interesting! They kinda free-swim, get tired and latch on to whatever they are near for 10-15 minutes and swim again for a few more.

I also can see some of the coloration's in them (Needed a magnifying glass). I have about 3 silvers, 3 tigers and 2 that are almost all black. Who knows, they may not look like that but I have been bored myself for the past few hours and watching them.

Hey maybe I can catch them blinking and farting!! :)

Tiny, like 3/16 inch.... just a guess. The tails are mostly clear and I can tell the yolk sacks are ALMOST empty. The bodies I can see the colors on.

Got my measuring tape at hand for the guess!

They keep trying to feed on the gunk in the tank, it is like the sludge that rests on the plants (they were born on an Anubias leaf which went into the tank)

That's really tiny. I've never seen angel fry before, only cichlids and Endler's.

I figured. The baby angels look like little tadpoles (no fins) with 2 big beady eyes on the front of its head (kind of looks like an insect larvae)

I bought two angelfish that were dime size a while back, turned out one was a male and 1 a female (at the time I barely knew anything about them)..later on of course they mated and would attack everything else in my tank! They loved laying their eggs on the emperor 400 tube just above the filter head (sq. piece) on a 55g I had at the time.
I loved their iridescent like color ;)

    ~Good Luck with rearing ;)

Unfortunately I cannot. Not that my camera is not very good, actually, it better be for almost $2,000. (Canon Rebel XT with an arsenal of lenses and filters)

The problem is at their size, how quick they are, plus they are in a tank in a tank... I cannot get a clean picture on them I have tried but they look like specs of dirt! :)

    I have a Canon Rebel XTi. :p

Getting fry pictures is really hard, especially when they're the size of a grain of rice, or smaller.

Well, the mother of the first spawn has done it again. Her and her mate are GREAT parents. The other mother would wander off a lot, this one does not. As soon as I get my Oscar out (another day or 2) I am going to clean out this 55 and place a divider or 2 in it (bare-bottom) and move this 1 pair into that tank. Hopefully they will continue to spawn after the transfer! I will see in another day or 2 how good she really is as I am going to let her care for the young for at least till wiggler stage and then I may re-assess if I want to pull them or see is she will raise them to free-swimming. (of course I am going to remove the wigglers before free-swimming as it is a "community" of sorts.)

They REALLY need to be removed as these 2 as a pair are vicious toward EVERYTHING. Poor discus are locked down in a 50 gallon space in this tank and these 2 angels took the rest for themselves.

Well, this 3rd batch is at wiggler stage and this mother is not eating. quite the contrary, she moves them around in her mouth and tends the leaf. She never stops cleaning.

I just went and got rid of my Oscar!!!! Anyhow when I got home I checked on the eggs and she moved all the good ones to a new leaf and cleaned the old leaf off! I thought at first they were all gone and then noticed that they were just all together on another leaf. Yeah, now that I do not have an Oscar, I am going to clean out that tank, divide it and move these 2 Angels upstairs into that tank!

A 55. WAY too small for him. He is now in a 125 at my favorite LFS. They have thousands of gallons of tanks as they do pond fish too! I am going to divide it before I put them in into 3 sections. I am picking up another 55 tomorrow which will be divided into 2 sections

A divided tank sounds exciting. I've never actually seen anyone do it. I'd love to see pictures when you're done.
