    I've thought about a fishy coffee table for a very long time. Just haven't brought myself around to actually do it.

    according to the one listing:

    ya, I wonder how you would feed? I mean is there a gap that you just slide the food between or is the top hinged in some way that it lifts off?

    Same goes with the plugs...how would you run them (across the floor)?

    they are 5 gallon tanks. is use it for a cooler instead.

    im not gonna lie i like the octagon a lot but im assuming that because they said nothing about a heater than they are mainly for goldfish or similar cold water fish

    Actually, our fish store here (FinTastics) sells these, though not the walmart ones here, but bigger more coffee table ones and yes they have a gap, apparently from my conversations about them, are no harder to clean than a regular tank, and you could do one of those submersible heaters, I would think that would work fine. you figure there's got to be at least one cord coming out of it because of the light, so attach the heater cord to the light cord and no one would notice:) I'd sooo get one of these, but the Fin's one are closer to $500-1000 depending on size *gulp*

    If you'd keep goldfish in it it can't be any smaller than 20 gallons for one fish... gurr, that's the thing with this kind of stuff that it's never mentioned how many fish you actually can keep healthy in it, it just shows a bunch of fancy, pretty fish on the photos D:
    It's not like they don't need to have their water changed or anything, and keeping a tank where you'd keep a coffee table seems rather unpractical.

    Even though they do look pretty!

    Speaking of the weird and how the hecks...have you seen the working toilet and sink that are tanks too???
