    Okay everyone... My laptop completely died on me and I'm so mad. It won't do anything and won't allow me to restore it using my recovery CD.

    Until I get it fixed or just go buy a new one I won't be around as much. I'll try to check in as often as I can using my friends MacBook but I don't want to take over his computer. LoL

    I just broke out the iPod touch. LoL I'm already going crazy without my laptop.

    oh man that s--ks big time, i had the same happen to me, it turned out to be the hard drive..you should check it out. i bought a new one, slapped it in and then use the restore cd.

    I think it is the hard drive. I'm going to have a friend take a look at it. He owns a computer repair place.

    that's a good thing, i took mine to a repair shop....they told me it would be about 400 dollars to fix (that's without knowing what it was), i went to best buy, bought a hd, i spent 150 dollars for a bigger hd and haven't had a problem in 9 months.

    Okay so I've been looking at laptops today and I think I'm going to go with a Dell. I'm done with Gateway. This is the second laptop that has died on me just over a year after purchasing it.

    I've been looking at the Dell XPS M1530 but I also like the Inspiron 1525 because I love the "Sea Sky" pattern they can put out the outside and after I configure it, it's basically the same as the XPS.

    Opinions ?

    i haven't heard of them giving anyone any trouble unless it was there own fault.....they're the best choice for dell. if your thinking hp don't get a dv model....they're burning up on people all the time!
    or you could always waste a whole lot of money on a mac!!

    I would never get an HP. LoL I was going to get a MacBook Pro but several of the programs I use don't come in a mac version so I'm stuck.

    Best Buy should have it in stock. If not maybe Office Depot or Staples will have it.
