I don't see too many Calvus when going to fish stores. I think the only place I saw them on a regular basis was at Uncle Neds in MA.

Ned's deff has some of those. The last time I was there he had quite a few smaller ones, and one or two large ones. I was thinking of getting one to put in my african tank.

I didn't think his prices were bad for the quality of fish he offered and the area.

I was there last week and he was selling a 6 inch burundi frontosa for $300. Now if that isn't bad I don't know what is.

I will admit, that is way too much for that fish.

I know this is an old post, but I was looking through old posts of mine, and just had a laugh at the 300 dollar frontosa at uncle ned's. The day I bought my larger frontosa burundi he had another one that was a little smaller but a different type for the same price, $45. About a week later I showed up on what had been a busy day, and he had it marked for $300. A couple days later my girlfriend and I went and it was marked for $45 again. He must have his reasons behind this, and the only thing I can figure is that on a busy day, he doesn't want some customer to just buy it and put it in a 30 gallon tank like people do with oscars. The only $300 dollar fish he has right now (and is definitely worth a lot more than that) is a 14"-15" Male Frontosa Moba, and you better believe if I had another large tank, he would be be living in it as we speak lol He's an absolutely amazing/gorgeous fish!

either that or he is marking it up hoping that someone will buy it when it's busy.
