    BRICHARD'S SLENDER CICHLID

    Family:Cichlids, Cichlidae.
    Characteristics:5 in, female has braod white band in upper half of caudal fin.
    Tank/Water:50g, water types 3-5, 76-81F.
    Care:In pairs with good water movement and lots of hiding places formed by stone slabs lying flat, so that the fish can dig out hollows underneath them. The numerous hiding places are necessary to give harried females a place to retreat.
    Habits:Found in rock cracks in the area of the Lower Congo rapids. In spawning season, females have a red belly against a black background. Pair-forming vaviry brooder.
    Compatibility:Congo tetras and humphead cichlids.
