    BUFFALOHEAD CICHLID

    Family:Cichlids, Cichlidae.
    Characteristics:5.5 in, males grow larger, develop a bigger hump on the head, and have a wider mouth.
    Tank/Water:37.5g, water types 3-6, 76-83F.
    Care:In pairs in tanks with water movement and some caves that the fish can enlarge by digging. Food: high-fiber dry and frozen foods.
    Habits:Bottom-dwelling fish of the Lower Congo rapids. Lives chiefly on algae. Pair-forming cavity brooder.
    Compatibility:With other open-water fish from the Congo such as Congo tetras. In large tanks also with other cichlids such as Teleogramma brichardi.
