Would you use frozen bloodworms or other meaty foods or would you feed the freeze dried stuff. Anybody go to the supermarket for raw or cooked shrimp. Want to give my future the best nutrition I can.

I personally DONT use the freeze dried.... I regularly feed Frozen Fish Foods to my fish!

Never bought shrimp myself... thought about and then decided not to.

I used to feed my Redtail Catfish freeze dried krill. He loved it! Other than that Cichlid pellets and live food depending on what your feeding. Your referring to South American Cichlids right?

I agree Jrow.... I fed Oscars crickets, Discus and Angels - Frozen Bloodworms, Live Blackworms.... both fed cichlid pellets, granules, and flake

The pellets will also keep them from growing too fast and are a lot cleaner than live food. My Oscar ate flakes when he was small. Once he grew a little I fed him pellets. After that he ate pretty much anything I put in there...

Then I guess frozen food it is then. The only thing I don't like about ordering frozen online is the shipping. It seems everyone has a 25.00 charge for shipping it.

Ive always used fresh seafood from stores as a treat. My oscar loves fresh shrimp and scallops.

That idea did cross my mind but wondered how good it was for the fish. Do you get the shrimp raw or cooked. I would think the raw shrimp would have more nutritional value than the cooked stuff.

I think it needs to be raw... I am not 100% sure... I never fed mine that, but it does sound like a nutritional treat!

Yep, raw and not cooked. I don't think you should ever feed cooked food to fish. Unless it's slightly cooked peas or something of that nature.
