have a single clown in my 75g CA tank. It does well alone. I got it at 3" in Feb and now its about 5" and fat so I guess they dont grow that slow. Its eats the same pellets and flakes as the Cichlids.

LOL, yea...lets start a loaner program.
Ie...I have bristlenoses that I could loan out for problematic algae. Haha!

I actually have considered "borrowing" a clown loach for my 125... I dont want one as its not really compatible with my tank but kind of need one to get rid of my snails that are taking over... So IF I did buy one I would take it back after the snail problem was fixed anyhow...

How big do bristlenoses get to be, and would it get along with my cories?

I have 2 that hide inside a big fake rock in my African tank. One of them is huge!!! I only see them early in the morning when I wake up and thats for a few seconds before they burrow back inside the rock... They seem to get bigger everytime I see them so I'm assuming they are still eating well.

Still talking about clown loaches by the way...

4" max, and they get along great with Cories. I have 12 or so cories with more bristles than I care to count and never had an issue.
Bristlenoses are great since they are non-aggressive and remain small in size. The only time you might see one swim over the other or flare is during breeding time..but no one ever gets hurt.

I picked up 3 small clown loaches at the lfs today myself.
Hope they get to look that nice!
Mine are only about 2.5" and they were $13.99 each (talk about ouch to the wallet)
