    Clown Loaches

Bought a pair of Clown Loaches tonight. I would have bought more but they only had two. The question I have is are they known to be aggressive? The funny thing is they are chasing my more aggressive fish. My tiger barb and my Serpae Tetras which all like to chase my other fish around.

my personal past experience with them is that they'll eat anything that they can fit in their mouth..including other fish. As with any fish, they all have their own personality whereas some may do well with others,...and some may have that same species in the same setup and they don't fit well.
Usually when they school the agression disperses(sp) amongst one another rather than a single victim. They become moreso aggressive in overstocked tanks also, as any fish does since they are struggling to claim a piece of territory that basically doesn't exist in an overstocked tank.
    Also, clowns love snails! *Munch*Munch

Yeah, I heard they like snails. I did a lot of research on them before I bought them. Everything I read said they do best in peaceful community tanks... Mine is kind of in between. Another funny thing is I have a Redtail Shark and he's swimming around with them. Like he wants to school with them. Its kind of neat.

I have had several loaches and I did not find them to be aggressive however when I only had 1 loach he had "his" territory in the corner of the tank and he would shoo off fish that "trespassed" .

They seem to have settled down now. A minute ago they were laying on top of each other in the corner of the tank. They are definitely active. Pretty fun to watch!!!

Get a couple more and they will start ignoring anything and everything that isnt food. Mine are in with my jag and festae, both around 8", and they both ignore the group. Keep in mind that they will eat fry, but their mouths are tiny, so I wouldnt worry about the other fish getting eaten.

Mine could never catch the fry they tried but I had too many hiding places. Mine only got to be 4 inches before I had to move.

I don't plan on having any fry in this tank so that shouldn't be a problem. Their really cool. I've been wanting to get them for a long time... They seem to be adapting just fine. Now their schooling around the tank with my Tiger Barbs.
