Convicts Spawned?

    i have 2 convicts in a 10 gallon tank (pair)

    the tube on her anal fin area is there (i dont know whats its called)
    does this mean they spawn and that they laid egges. i looked around for the eggs but i didnt find eny

    P.S whenever i come up to the glass the male gets aggresive and flars his gills at me.

    An extended tube does not always mean they have spawned or are ready to spawn. How big are they ? I would suggest getting a bigger tank.

    No it does not mean they spawned. Nor does it mean they are ready to... My Rams I had... they had their tubes out WAY before they ever were mature to spawn....

    You will know a spawn by 2 parents guarding eggs.... other than that... you wont know!

    I dont know convicts... but most Cichlids wont spawn until 1-2 years old depending on the species... I would assume 1 year for convicts... Discus can be 2-4 years...

    Okay, so they should be able to spawn at that size. Just keep an eye on them to see if they guard an area of the tank.

    they probally will spawn soon the signs are they start to become aggresive and cleaning something they will lay eggs on. If their tubes are down and they get disturbed the might not spawn until later or they might just eat their own eggs

    I don't have wigglers though
    I don't even had eggs.
    My female convict has the extended tube and all I wanted to know I what it meant
    If there going to have fry or if they r going to Lie there eggs.

    magic lol notice the + and - fromexperience with thousands of convict sum were 6" big!!!! but then sold all and when angel style!

    My female stays in a tunnel I made but there is gravel on the bottem so I don't think she's going to lie her eggs in the gravel and the male swims around infront of the glass flaring his gills at me

    What does this mean ????
