Hmmm he almost looks like a marbled con but I know it isn't. With the amount of crossbreeding in the hobby today it is probably just a "mutt" but a pretty one :)

Wow! that is huge! sorry about him dying though:( i threw in a algae wafer last night for my plecostamus (still trying to find a new home for him) and the cichlids loved it. is it bad for them to eat it? i know they are mostly herbivores, but i want to be safe

Sure there is no reason that it will harm them. Let them munch away :)

i just noticed that one of your fish is an demasoni, here's some info on this fish that may/may not change your stocking plans. when i had a mbuna tank i really wanted some of this guy because they are a really "sharp" looking fish but didn't want to have such a big group of just one fish.

here are some other fish that may interest you:
    Labidochromis Caeruleus - yellow lab
    Pseudotrophues Socolofi
    Iodotropheus Sprengerae - rusty cichlid
    Metriaclima Greshakei
    Melanochromis Johannii

if you don't know all ready, the giraffe cichlid (nimbochromis venustus) can get to 10 inches and the red empress can get to 9 inches. venustus can have territorial issues and get aggressive.

is the orange on his dorsal fin and lightly on the tail ? if so sounds like it's a Metriaclima Greshakei ( male), i've got a female (brownish/rootbeer color), she's got the 20g to herself along with a snail.
