endlers?

    i got these from the pet store yesterday they were selling them as "feeders" and the look exacly the same literally they were 10 for a dollar are they really?

    Endler's from a pet store are very likely to be hybrids.

    Unless you get them from a breeder you won't really know. At best you would have to consider them Class P, meaning pure but not traceable so there's no proof of them being pure. Class K is when you know they're hybrids. A picture would be great then I can give my opinion on their class.

    how do you know the classes. or is it just that you have to know the breeder

    Endler's can only be called class N when their relative's collection point can be traced. Class P is when you're sure they're pure Endler's but they cannot be traced back and class K are hybrid Endler's.

    Who came up with this system? Grading fish to me has always just been a way to charge more for them, IMO:)

    It was put into place to keep the line pure. These fish are pretty rare in the US still.
