    Killifish
OK I'm wondering if any one keep Killifish here, if so I have a few questions.

What is a good size tank. Is it better to buy them as eggs or fish. If you go with eggs are they easy to hatch. what a good food to feed them.

I have a ton of other but I might be better if you could provide a web site with info on them or a link to a book I can buy to read up on them.

I would like any help I can get, i would do it my self but I have to work on a term paper for school and don't have the time to look in to them right now.

also what is a good starting killi.

As for tanks, larger is always better. A larger tank affords you more room to make mistakes, because the water chemistry is more stable, due to more water volume. Imagine a drop of food coloring in a gallon of water, as opposed to a drop in fifty-five gallons. Obviously, the latter has much less of an impact. As for research, a time when you have to work on a term paper for school and have no time isn't the best time to start a tank. WetWebMedia is the best website, in my opinion, on fishkeeping. Use the google search tool at the bottom of the page and research cycling a tank, the types of fish you want, etc. Time spent during research saves you money in the long run, not to mention fishy lives. I do not keep killifish, but keep many other fish, and I know that in some ways, fish are all alike. They're all animals who weren't meant to live in a glass box, being forced to live in a glass box. As aquarists, it is our job to do right by them.

OK I'm not plan on setting up the tank yet, I'm looking to see if I want to invest time when I do have the time, or go with another fish.

Okay, then I would say definitely check out WetWebMedia.com. Fisbase.org can be helpful too, but WetWebMedia is the best. You can get info on the types of killifish, their behavior, compatible tankmates, necessary water conditions, common illnesses... everything. Plus, you can read about others' problems with the particular fish and what the WetWebMedia crew had to say about those problems, including why the problem occurred and how to fix it. And, last but not least, if you still can't find an answer to a specific question, you can e-mail and ask them directly! Definitely a wonderful site.

    Re: experience with Killies?)

I keep lots of killie fish. I have met most of the big killie fish guys and have showed my killies and won prices. I keep all my killies in 5 gallon tanks with two mops on both sides and have many fry tanks..
