Fish Farts

    I did witness one of the many discus busting butt yesterday, I think if he could walk they would be labeled as machine gun farts.

    Flatulence is a big word to describe a voluntary/involuntary action. But yeah it was one of the funniest things Ive seen in my aquaria hobby.

    yes 1000% serious, unless they have a blowhole by their pooper it was a series of farts. one smacked an angel in the face on its way up.

    side note, 3 spawns in the tank today, two angels and one pair of gold rams which layed directly on a very low crypt leaf and also on the substrate next to it. Did not witness any farts today. The corydora farts are the best. its like when a anubias flowers and shoots off the constant steady stream of o2.

    Aint nothing wrong with a good fart be it from any species. I congratulate on a fart well done.

    Yes they can. I am wondering if they stink too. Ill let my 4yo daughter find that one out. ive smelt enough in my life and only have the future promise of more, Id rather not be the guinea pig on this one.

    haha! I know about the corydoras..mine ride their farts to the top of the 90g.
    Just never knew about the discus..but ey' if an algae eater can bust one they why wouldn't a fish?

    I'd think mine would smell like bloodworms since that's 90% of what they eat. haha!

    hot, digested bloodworms.

    All things with a digestive track bust butt. I miss my yellow lab and his stairmaster farts. Man that dog could rip with the best trucker out there.

    My wife will be home soon so I gotta get my sillies out on here, she is not amused by my amusement of flatulence.( they are kinda like snowflakes, none are identical)

    Heard that some fish release gas from the swim bladder through their vent while descending in the water.

    Huhu, I've seen a few little bubbles go up from behind my fish occasionally too c: Quite adorable actually!

    No, I dont tend to see too many moths around here. My parrots fart. Thats funny, sometimes they get startled sometimes they mimick the noise.
