I came home from class to my dog leading me into my bedroom to show me my female dovii laying on the floor dried up (Lassie type moment)! :( I got her back into the tank and she started breathing again. I placed the airstone tube into her mouth forcing oxygen into her gills and she started breathing with her mouth (opening and closing it) and her gills. I removed some tank water and placed her in a cooler with three airstones, is there anything else I can do? She moves her eyes and fins a little, but cannot stay upright. Help please, I am distraught.

Sorry to hear that. Other than what you've already done I don't think there's much else you can do.

salt, anything? I dumped a little prime into the cooler to help with her slime coat, and maybe ease her pain a little bit.

I'm not sure the salt would do anything in her case. If she looks like she's stressing out I'd do a half dose of MelaFix to try and calm her down.

She doesnt look like much right now, I am going to put a little in there with ther just to exhaust all options. I will be very very sad if I lose her.

I dont think meds will help! wow!

I think you are making the right steps and maybe like Anthony said, the Melafix may relieve stress.

    Re: Need Help Bad!

added melafix, shes still breathing and starting to stay upright, I am going to go and buy a 10 gallon tank if she makes it through the next hour or so and pick up some pmafix to make sure she doesnt get any fungus or bacterial infections from the stress

thanks for the well wishes. I will keep updating.

Another question, do you think she would be better off in my wetdry, theres enough water to cover her twice her height and theres a high flow rate.

    Re: Need Help Bad!

I wouldn't put her in anything with a high flow rate. That may make things worse since she's probably already pretty weak.

    Re: Need Help Bad!

I've always paid $10 for 10 gallons, once I paid $8 for one up north. But yeah, no more than $15 I wouldn't think.
