Looking to find out what kind of compatability Rays have with other freshwater fish and what minimum tank requirements are needed. My aunt wants to pick one up for my uncle. He has a 100 g tank with a lot of larger fish and a few angels and he has a 60 g corner tank with just angels and 1 large catfish. Think a freshwater ray app 4-5" diameter would be ok in either of these tanks. I used to have a larger ray, but had nothing but smaller African cichlids in it.

Depending on what type of freshwater ray you choose, they can be housed with some other fish. The tank requirements also vary according to the species you choose.

Even with a 4-5" ray you have to consider their adult size and the tank they'll need then.

If I remember correctly there's a post on here that mentions them needing a 36" tank width

The ray won't bother other fish though, right? It would be fine with the angels wouldn't it?

If it's a pygmy/dwarf type ray then yes it should be. If it's a larger type I wouldn't.

Some fishies that you can keep with rays are clown loaches and discus'. Large tank definately required. Your min. tank size should be 6x2x2. The absolute first thing to know is the type of ray you will be getting. Min. width will either be 24" or 36" (preffered) depending on that. Other items to note are prestine water conditions, no decorations, bare or sand (preffered) bottom tank.

haha i feel yah. the upside is i dont have to spend like 200$ on some motoro's or more expensive ones or do a water change one my 300 gallon tank every 2 or o days got that would be a pain in the @ss but breeding them would be fun
