today i decided that i'm going to make my own fish food. i use broccoli, green pea, fish and crab. those r all the thing i have in the freezer. i chop and grind all up together until they look like a smoothy. u can taste it if u like.lol. not me. i than put it in a zip bag and froze it. i just put them out and break it and feed the fish when they r hungry. THEY LOVE IT MORE THAN THE BRIME SHRIMP. i know because when i feed them the shrimp, they only eat the first few and stop. the rest of the left over just get suck down the the filter bag. and the homemade food, they just tear it up, from frozen to small pieces and they still get it.

I always make my own food.

    meat and veggie:
    shrimp
    clam
    scallop
    mysis
    squid
    frozen brine
    nori
    omega one veggie flakes

    Meat only:
    shrimp
    clam
    scallop
    mysis
    squid
    frozen brine

Blend all in a food processor until smooth, add to zip lock bags, flatten out, and freeze. For larger fish/tanks lay egg crate on tinfoil and spread mixture into squares then freeze....you now have frozen cubes just like store bought.

hey I never heard that idea, I like it! breaking off pieces from a big flat chunk isn't that big of a pain but this idea would give you similar ease of use as those individual Hikari frozen cubes, just pop and drop.

Yeah works pretty good....when I get my 75g set up and need to feed in larger portions I'll be using the squares.
