Well, not really a story per-say but,

As I posted my pair of Angels has not bred in a while. I also moved that 1 bull male Discus and that single Angel from the show tank to my 55 grow out for now.

Well I woke up this morning to find an interesting surprise, for some odd reason that single Angel spawned this morning! Thats not that odd itself but there are a few other things that I just found hilarious. First the spawning site. Those of you who keep Angels know that they prefer to spawn on vertical surfaces such as a filter intake, heaters, plant leaves, slate, etc... Well she spawned on the tank wall!?!?! That is not very normal for Angels (ok, so it is a bare-bottom tank with no decorations BUT there is a filter intake!)

Also she was guarding the eggs from the Discus and me as if they are fertile.

I do know why she did it though now, it seems that the male of the other pair she can see from her tank and the male can see her too! The male seems to want to see her and wants away from his current mate. I may try her with the male and put the other female with the Discus in the 55.

I just found that to be quite odd in a few ways!

That male angel is a big Playah :)

You did something really good by taking the angel and the bullie out :)
    Good luck ;)

He truly is, when all 3 were in the show tank he took turns every 3 days spawning with each of the 2 females. All you saw him doing all day was swimming back and forth. Both females snapping at him to either tend the eggs or clean the spawning site to prepare to spawn! :)

And he thought it would be fun to be a playah :)

I cant remember what thread I posted it on, but I switched females on my male Angelfish.... they have been together for about a week. After coming home from work today there are about 700 eggs on the leaf! The leaf is covered top to bottom in eggs! They are most likely fertile as both Angels are tending them!

We will see now if this female is still an egg eater like she was a while back ago... the one that is with the male now is the one that this thread was started about. She tended those sterile eggs so she may tend the fertile ones too!

I will keep you all posted on this :D <~~~~More Cardinal Tetras to come I hope!!!!!
