future idea ? :O

    in the future my plan is to have a 90 gallon tank with a fx5 filter and 1 fire eel its going to to be planted and maybe a few other small fish
    will that be enough for the fire eel ?

    You probably can't do a planted tank with them. They like to borrow so they will dig up the plants.

    90 gallons should be fine.

    you can do pots like in my bare bottom tank

    so putting the plants in pots and just burring them inn gravel ? mmmm sounds like it would work .

    I would bet the eel would still attempt to bury itself in there, uprooting the plants.

    Then you put larger rocks on top that they will not move.

    It will be a real challenge to have a planted tank with a fire eel. I think your best shot is going to be the plants that you can tie down on rocks or driftwood such as Java Fern, Bolbitis and Anubias to name a few. Even those can get tricky.

    But the short and skiny of it with these guys is that anything on the bottom of the tank is going to be fair game. So be prepared. ;)
