    Hello,

    A few things about myself-

    I've been keeping freshwater Tropical Fish since 1964 (I'm 58);

My largest tank was an 85 gal aquarium w/Oscars, a Pleco and Shovelnose Cat. The Oscars all grew up to about ten or eleven inches as did the Pleco.

Later on I changed the tank to an all-Cichlid aquarium; all pugnacious fish but the tank was in balance....until I added a Pike.

What a mistake! Never put a Pike in with other fish- it was not long before he ruled the roost and the rest of my fish were looking for foxholes in which to hide...

During my tour in Vietnam I was assigned to a base camp job for a while so I grabbed up some mosquito netting and fished out, from the rice paddy, two three spot Gouramis and a Paradise Fish which I kept in a pickle jar.

Back in about '67 I had a mated pair of Portalegrensis Cichlids which had so many babies for a few weeks I was trading the babies for Brine Shrimp and Tubifex Worms!

Other than that, I'm just another aquarist.

Attached is one of my past aquariums. It was very thickly planted and no, the Betta did not nip at the Guppies!

Best to Everyone- may all your aquariums stay in balance for ever!

Yes, I have. I consider keeping Tropical Fish fascinating.

And as everyone knows, success is in the details!

Here's another try at uploading a picture of one of my past aquariums.

You can see I still need to learn how to take photos of aquariums, LOL...

Well, I've been to TX a few times while in the military so I am not unfamiliar with the weather and stuff.

But I would say were it not for my friend I'm visiting I'd not be here....

AZ is next, I want to check out the Vortex!

Then back to my beach....can't be w/o water!

Oh, btw, my last name is Russian for 'trout'......

    Thanks,

    Paul
