Help Identify this Cichlid

    ....... someone dropped this guy off at petco a few weeks ago, and they had him up for adoption in a lone tank. I usually don't get any fish from sketchy places but this fish attracted me. Very weird, yet nice coloring, and just didn't look like anything normal, im guessing a hybrid. If anyone has anything to add... even a guess would help.

    I agree it looks like some type of hybrid, a hybrid of what I don't know.

    maybe, maybe not. Guess ill have to wait till the fish grows up a bit. It is fairly small at 1-1.25''.

    Yeah, that looks similar but with it being so small it's hard to tell.

    the markings on this one makes me think of a melanochromis interruptus...but the color is what is throwing me off on this one...hybrid or not, its a neat looking fish... imo
