Hey all, Im new to the aquarium hobby. I have a 1 Gallon that my female Betta "Star Destroyer" is in, she seems to enjoy it quite a bit. Next to it is a small 5 gallon that I have had up since Monday. For Cycling it, I have 2 Danios in it. They seem quite happy in their tank. Ammonia levels have been kept under close watch, water changes have been made twice a day. I think I have been doing everything correctly so far. Any comments gladly welcome. Also, I know the tank is small, I already with I would waited to buy at least a 10 gallon. But I really wanted the 29 gallon kit that I saw for sale.

    Welcome to the forum.

I wouldn't do 2 water changes a day even with the tank cycling. I would recommend one every 2-3 days. Seachem Prime can be used to detoxify ammonia and nitrites when the tank is cycling do it doesn't cause harm to the fish.

Okay, Ill lay off the water changes for a little bit. I really am enjoying my new (albeit small) tank! It is alot of fun to watch the Danios go crazy chasing each other.

Question for later on, what is a good quality 20-30 gallon tank that is not too expensive at all? Or an Aquarium Kit of that size?

if I were you I'd do the standard 55g, will prob. be cheaper too!
Check craiglist in your area & most equip can be gotten there too (or ebay/aquabid)
