I recently joined this website and have found it very interesting and it has been very helpful ;)
All i have at the moment are the following:
    a 3 gallon betta bowl
    an 11 gallon stocked with:
3 zebra danios ( it is still cycling )
    double filtration
    bubbler
heater ( all appropriate for the tank )
Do you have any beginner tips that i might find helpful? that would be great!
I am fairly new to the hobby, i kept goldfish and betta fish when i was only 6 yrs. of age, the betta lived 4 years! I got interested again and found many websites including Yahoo, Badman's tropical fish, fishlore, and of course, the exotic fish.
I only feed my zebra danios once a day and right now while the tank is cycling i do water changes every other day, BTW does anyone know if cycling fluids such as CYCLE ( it speeds up the cycling process ) do they actually work?
What would be some good fish to go with the zebra danios after the tank is well established?
    I was thinking:
3 zebra danios (already have )
    5 cherry barbs
    2 cory cats
    1 dwarf gourami
i really like that collection of fish and i have an expert fishkeeper so i will not have to worry about overstocking, he told me that was ok, and he taght me all the basics.
anyway the bottom line is i have an 11 gallon tank that is cycling, i am new to the exotic fish, i have an expert fishkeeper helping me so anyway i'm in good shape!
    Thanks for any advice!

    Welcome to The Exotic Fish.

I've never used Cycle but I have used Seachem Stability, NitroMax, and am now testing Weiss Ogranic Bacter Boost. The only product that I know for a fact to speed up the cycling process is Marinelands Bio-Spira. Apparently they now make a non refrigerated version as well.

The 11 gallon tank... Is that a hex tank ? The cherry barbs really need more than 11 gallons. The Dwarf Gourami would work but again with the cory cats I don't think a group of them would fit in the 11 gallon (assuming it's a hex type tank).
