Hey i have a question since you look like a saltwater keeper.I got this brown stuff on my live rock and sand.I had the tank for 4 months and i setted it up about 4 weeks ago.I know clowns are hardy fish and dont want to get other fish until i know what this is.Do you have any clue what this is?

Diatom algae. Every new tank gets it. It should eventually go away if you take proper care of your tank.

New users must have their posts approved first.

Water changes, not overfeeding and correct water parameters.

What type of clownfish is it ?

You should be feeding him a variety of brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and something like Formula Two.

Okay, stop feeding that. Buy some frozen brine shrimp and/or mysis shrimp and Ocean Nutrition Formula Two. Those two or three things will be all he needs. You can feed him some spirulina flakes once a week but I wouldn't recommend feeding him flakes as a staple food.

Uh huh. Since you only have one fish only feed him very little each day.
