I have them and mine constantly are breeding.

Eco-complete or soft belly safe substrate

Driftwood-lots of it (they need to rasp)

Pretty much any type of plant...mine really like just about any type of sword plant.

Caves and breeding nooks- terra cotta pots turned on their side, mine breed in kens pleco breeding logs--> <a class="postlink" href="http://www.kensfish.com/breedingsupplies.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.kensfish.com/breedingsupplies.html</a>

I stand these on the sides and lay a piece of slate over the top...and on top of the slate I line up pleco breeding logs from kens. You can see it in my 90g photos.

If your tank lacks algae supplement with Hikari Algae Wafers, Cucumber slices, Zuchinni Slices, No Sodium French Cut Canned Green Beans (great for the babies too)

Good Filtration (as with any pleco your going to get lots of waste)..mine love cruising along the top of the spray bars too :)

I've noticed with mine that when I feed more cucumbers/zucchini they rapidly breed...but when I just let them graze on the little algae I get and hikari supplement tabs they slow down on the breeding.

Mine were originally kept at pH 6.0 and temp of 78.8F, but are now doing great with my discus which are kept at the same pH but a temp of 86F
