Jack Dempsey Substrate?

    whats the best substrate to use for JD's? i just bought a 55g tank to move my breeding pair into. i was thinking sand but wasnt sure if gravel would be better.

    i wouldnt recommened small grains because they could move the big rocks with their mousths

    Just a small size gravel with smooth edges should do fine.
