My lfs has a small Jaguar cichlid (about an inch or two). I really like this fish but i have a few questions before i buy. 1. what is the max size? 2. are they compatible with the fish i have now(1 green terror,2 dempseys,2 female convicts). All but one of the dempseys are in a 55 gallon now and one is in a 30 by itself but soon they will all be moved to a 75 or 90. I really like this fish but if its not compatible then i would rather see someone else with it.

    Max size is about 16".
They're highly aggressive fish and could and would probably make snacks of the convicts and maybe the others.
I don't think there's any way you could put it in a 55 gallon tank, even alone.

A 125 gallon tank is suggested for a single specimen, a 180 gallon is minimum for a breeding pair. This fish gets to be 22" (males) females smaller around 12".

I took my loach there over the weekend. They always have a good selection of fish.

A Jag at 22'' I do not think so more like 16'' if you are lucky and the fish was fully matured but they are very aggressive as stated already. You can keep a breeding adult pair in a 100 gal smaller pair in smaller quarters until they reach sizes requiring more space.

Maybe the reason your jags stay so small is the tank size? I have read all over the place that given ample time, food, and tank space males can easily reach 18 to 22"
