I am the proud owner of 2 lovely Green Sevs. I would like to know more about them from a reliable owner rather than info on the net (I write freelance and know most crap written on the Internet is simply that - Crap!). Give me some stats, info, experience. TIA! ;)

I honestly never kept severums.... I would not be the person to ask... from what i read quick online they are not much like Discus.... They seem to like similar water conditions but that seems to be where it ends.

SA Cichlid water parameters tend to all be about the same. Naturally there are 2 types of rivers in South America, Blackwater and Whitewater. The Amazon River is a Whitewater and the Rio Negro is a Blackwater.

Both rivers have in common a neutral to slightly acidic water parameters with the Blackwater river being more extreme to acidic due to the lower volume of water moving and tannic acid building up from decaying plant matter.

I would assume that Severums originate from the Amazon River making them come from a natural body with a PH of 6.5-7 and a relatively low hardness....

BUT that is from wild specimens... tank raised is a whole different animal...

Sorry I cannot be of much help, Wee Bay would be perfect for this question... I do think that the tank you have them in will be over-crowded in no time!
