Lighting for 125g South/Central American Cichlid Tank-Weebay

    Best lighting for a 125 freshwater SA/CA cichlid tank
    I am tired of looking at my fish under this damn flourescent tube. In you alls opinion what is the best way to light a tank like this? I currently have a 48" and a 24" strip on there, should I add more fixtures like this? Should I get two 36" t5s? If so what wattage? Any and all suggestions will help. The tank is your normal 125 (72x18x20).

    Are they just standard florescent bulbs ?

    I am going to say yes, in the 48" the bulb looks old, and has nothing written on it etc. I mean dont get me wrong they light the tank well, they just dont make the colors "pop" as I would like them too.

    What I use on my cichlid take are one 10k bulb and one 6500 bulb. That combo seems to make the colors pretty bright.
