lighting for plants

    what the best and cheapest lighting for plants for about a 10 or 15 gallon tank ?

    depends on what size tank you are going with since a 10g will be a 20" fixture and a 15g tank will be a 24" fixture.
    Also, do you plan on having the light fit the tank perfectly...or would you be willing to have hang over if it would give you more total wpg?

    I don't know about cheapest, but this would be a nice fixture for a planted 10g tank...

    yea how much are bulbs for the cheaper one and would you have any idea how often they would have to be replaced ?

    CF's are expensive and need to be replaced according to the mfr recommendations (usually every 6-12mos dependant upon mfr/bulb type).

    Dependant upon the pin type for a 36W Coralife Compact Fluorescent bulb you'd be looking at roughly $25 for 1 bulb. http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/20 ... a_7c209324
