    [IMG]This is to keuzeserver :)

Cichlids are members of the Cichlidae family.
They come from Africa, Central and South America.
Also, some are found in Madagascar, the Middle East and Asia.
Some cichlids need special water conditions, and special diets.
Most chichlids get quite large (up to 3 feet long).
    Chichlids are very intelligent.
Cichlids take good care of their eggs

@travis , do you brother got other fishes to ?

No, they're not plastic. Sadly those are dyed fish. They either inject them with dye or put them in an acid that strips them of their protective coating then they are dropped in dye.

Yeah, most people don't know that and that's why fish like that are so popular. If more people were aware of the suffering these fish went through I'd hope it wouldn't happen as often and eventually stop. Not to mention, these dyed fish have serious health problems and rarely live long.

They dye the fish to make them bright. The bright colors attract kids and naive adults. Yeah, the dye is harmful to the fish, that's why they have health problems and don't live long.

I hate when people do this...breeders and petshops try to come up with some new scheme to make a quick buck..fish DIE from this, only like 10% of "treated fish" even make it, so they kills 100,000's of thousands to make an inflated buck on the ones that live..look at the new glo-fish trend..stop the insanity!

Wow... I couldn't believe this when I heard it! The fish are beautiful enough naturally! Pet stores should not be able to carry dyed fish! You definitely learn something new everyday!!!

They are "Real" fish, they are injected with a dye to get the odd colorations that are displayed in the photo.

I've also seen "Painted" glass fish and Glo Danios
