My JD's Are being weird

    My mated pair of Electric Blue JD's are been strange..
    I have a bunch of those fancey jeweled toned plastic tank decor...
    my big male seems to pick them up and move them into various nesting spots around the tank..
    the female then guards them like her own eggs...
    I was told by the previous person that they just spawned.
    Should I remove the rocks.. or leave.. them we would like to have them spawn atleast once..

    the male.. the female ... and then smaller regular male..

    male is the bigest
    female is the second bigest
    then the other male is tiny

    The "Other male" is what type of fish ?

    What size tank is this ? You really shouldn't have one, especially two males, per female. It's best to have one male and several females.

    Larger cichlids often move the substrate, it doesn't mean they're spawned or are ready to spawn.

    it is a 55 gallon... but i am currently cycling a 90 gallon i found on craigslist..

    2nd that, jacks normally redecorate the tank to their own liking.
    Doesn't necessarily mean that they have spawend...have you found eggs anywhere?

    Here's some info on Jacks that even shows pictures of eggs and fry. Might wanna look it over :)

    I havn't seen any eggs yet.. but they keep doing the mating dance...
