Ammonia is .50 and PH is 7.6. Is there anything I should add to the water or should I just give it more time? Its been up for 2 days now...

    dechlorinator such as prime
instant cycler wouldn't hurt such as tetra safe start

also, what are the nitrate and nitrites reading?
and another product you can use instead of the Tetra Safe Start would be something along the lines of Bio Spira
WHEN the tank is fully cycled your readings should be:
    >Ammonia 0
    >Nitrites 0
    >Nitrates (have a reading) and these will be adjusted/lowered through your weekly water changes
    >pH is great, but I'd keep an eye on it as stability is the main focus here

I dont have anything to test Nitrites and Nitrates. I will buy those test kits today. The guy I got the tank from had problems with ammonia. It seems to be dropping more every day. Hopefully i will have it under control in the next few days. I would like to put a few Angelfish in there. Maybe a couple of Cardinal Tetras to go with them. I haven't really decided but i'm leaning more towards the Angelfish.

I need a replacement bulb for the light and a bigger filter so it may be a while before I can put anything in there.

With needing the new filter and heater I think I'm gonna just let the water sit a while longer before I add anything. Ammonia is down to .25 as of yesterday so it's getting better.

I'd do the tetra safe start
can see it and read about it here (is what I used in my 10g when I didn't have time to properly cycle it)--> <a class="postlink" href="http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=19607&cmpid=03csegb&ref=3312&subref=AA&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=0035721000000" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... 5721000000</a>
