my planted endler tank

    just a pic of my new tank. will take more when i have more endlers and more plants in there. so far i have 6 top yellow tailed endlers. class N. also 2 yoyo loaches. and i have plants: java fern, and moss, some kind of grass. i also have forgot to the name of the long plants that grow like wild fire,

    Your java fern will die if you have the rhizome planted in the substrate it should be tied to something and the anacharis-other plant- will grow better for you if left floating.

    Okay, here's my constructive criticism.
    1) Filter intake needs a prefilter.
    2) The filter looks too small for the tank.

    As far as the java fern goes, I keep mine buried and have ever since putting it in my tank.

    Pre filters can be lots of things most of the time it's just a media bag that's been placed over the intake to keep any fry from being sucked into the filter.

    Media bags can be found at any LFS. Just look in the section where they sell filters and filter media.

    Not only fry in this case since Endler males are pretty small.

    my intake tube does have a grate at the end of it. it is way to small for the males to get caught up in it. i bought alittle sponge to put around it.
