I think its some kind of zebra. Not the rare one but not too common either. I don't know what the L number is.... Nice fish though?

I think what you have there is a clown pleco.
IF that's what it is the bristlenose should be okay with it (I kept mine with one for a while).

Clown Peckoltia L 168 -- Panaque maccus

google that into images and you'll find photos (I don't have photos of mine..was forever hiding and never seen it ...actually thought it had died months prior until I broke down the tank and found it hiding in a decor looking better than ever)

idk about mine, hes a mean ass. i put my common pleco in there with him twice his size and the next day the common's fins were sliced in about 20 different ways and he just looked a little rough all around. illl give it a shot though, its not like hes gonna instanly execute him :)

are you sure your talking about a bushynose-bristlenose pleco?

the only time I've ever seen aggression with mine is during mating--and that's usually bickering over a log or a particular female. Never any damage ...just a odd swimming pattern like swirling them away with the water and the (not knowing the technical name)...side stabber thingys near the face flare out letting you know they are ticked.

Oxicinca sounds a bit like Otocinclus, in which case this is definately mislabled. Biggest zebra oto in the world perhaps. This site can help for id purposes... http://www.aquahobby.com/e_plecos_catfishes.php

it doesnt even matter now [cussing]. my attempt at protecting him brought his demise. i let him go.... and he sank straight to the bottom .

but yeah its a bushynose. he hangs out at the entrance to the hole in the log where my clown loaches sleep and thinks he is fanning invisible eggs. he might have a screw or two loose.
