    XP3 problems
I have recently set my xp3 back up on my 40 gallon planted tank, since setting it up it is having some trouble. Every so often it makes this weird noise (louder than usual), this noise is followed by an expulsion of lots of air bubbles. I'd say that it happens about once or twice an hour. Any ideas on what it could be?

Is it possible that the noise is just what you said... Air is collecting in the canister and the noise is when it's expelling the air ?

Yeah, thats most definetly what it is, sorry I didnt clarify that. I know my fx5, when extremely dirty, will cause "microbubbles" in the tank, I know that this is not the problem here because I cleaned the thing when I moved it to this house. I am wondering if I should take it all the way down and reassemble it.

That might be a good idea. Give everything a good look. Hopefully there's not a pin hole somewhere.

If theres a pinhole that will be rediculous, I just took a filter off of the same tank cause it was leaking like a crazy man. It has been one hell of a week for me and filters, so far I have this problem with my xp3, the ac 70 that was leaking, one of my ac's (ac50 I think) media basket will not stay down, and another one of my ac110's is leaking. I mean jesus, can anything else go wrong.

I got it all figured out now, broke it down and found some pieces of substrate on the top of the media trays, removed it and she's running like a charm now!
