ok, here is a question that I prolly have an answer to, one of my 29gl tanks was donated to me by my mom-in-law, which she had for eons in her office. It has hard water build up on the face of the glass, not near the rim, and I'm tried of looking thru it lol, is there a way to remove it w/o tearing it down, tried razor blade , to no prevail.I was thinking a high grit(600 or higher) wet/dry sandpaper. Used to use w/d sandpaper to remove hardwater build up from the reptiles cages(from spraying), only thing is that it scratched the glass a bit. Any other ideas would be welcomed.

I use that lyme, rust, and hard water remover on my tanks. Of course I have to empty the contents and clean it well if it is on the inside. It has worked well for Calcium buildup too.

Yeah...it is hard to get off for sure. I have use vinegar in the past as well, with some success.

Well, looking at it for one more day, got the best of me and i tried the 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper,it worked pretty good. i dropped the water lvl by 6 inches, as to not splash too much h2o from the tank, and sanded away for about 5-10 minutes and at first it didn't look like it was doing much, but when I topped of the tank, it's 80% better, if it scratched the glass at all i can't see it. Next h2o change, i'll do it again.
