New Ciclid Owner - New Hampshire

    Hi All,

    I recently bought my first Cichlid about a week ago. I have kept community and pond fish for many years, and don't have enough faith and patience to try a salt water tank yet, though I would like to someday. I decided to turn one of my tanks into a cichlid tank and give them a try. They are very interesting, much different than run of the mill community fish. I have a male Electric Blue Cichlid. I want to get him some friends, but am not confident enough yet to make a choice.. hoping to learn more than the books tell on here.

    Welcome to the forum. Cichlids are definitely one of the more interesting types of fish you can keep.

    Thanks all for the welcome. Currently I have a 33 gal Angel tank, all of the Koi are out in the pond now that the weather is nice :) and my newly established Cichlid tank with my 1 Electric Blue. Oh, also have a lone male betta on my desk at work in a 2 gallon. I will take / post pics soon.
