Hey everyone my name is Tara and i'm from the central mass area. Me and my husband currently have a 55 gallon tank that is housing Cichlids. Right now we have one 6inch Red Devil, one 4inch Parrot fish, one Frontasa, one male Convict, 2 female Convicts, one yellow and black fish that was supposedly a Blue Zebra, a couple others that i don't know there names and a bunch of little Convict babies.

We also have a 30 gallon tank with 2 Oscars, 2 bigger Gold fish, 3 smaller pond fish, one Jack Dempsey, 2 Kivers that i caught from the lake, and one Shovle nose Cat fish.

Welcome to The Exotic Fish. Please take some time and research the fish you have so you can provide proper "housing" for them. ;)

Jesus Christ, where do I begin? Buy, two 125 gallon tanks and at least a 180 galon tank and I start telling you where to put your fish.

I did not want to say that but thanks..... probably need actually 4 or 5 tanks as many of them are incompatible. That 30 gallon should be spit into 3 tanks and the 55 needs to be split into 2 tanks (of course all tanks MUCH larger).

    2 Oscars ALONE with a Common Pleco = 125 - 180 Gallons
    Goldfish/Pond Fish - 125 Gallons
Your Cichlids in the 55 are mixed and need to be separated to where they belong (Africans/South American) as each have different water parameters AND need a larger tanks for each....
The "local fish" need their own tank.

    Welcome though.

i didn't think i was going to have so many people respond on how my tanks and fish should be set up. so far all the fish are doing fine. yes i know i need a bigger tank but i just got this one and if someone is willing to just give me a bigger tank then i will move the fish to it but tanks cost money and right now christmas is 40 day away and my kids come first. i join the forum becasue i was interested in learning more about our fish but if people are going to be rude about the advice they give then i will gradly leave this forum. i don't know much about the fish except they were my husbands and now there living in my house. please if you want to tell me what i should do with them be a little nicer about it.

I was not being mean myself. Information that is not said normally. We do hear on here a lot of people who have been mis-informed as some point or another. Just providing information you may not know.

Please dont be so defensive. Remember, to many of us a "Fish" is just as important as a Cat or a Dog... they are not just an animal that can be flushed down the toilet. They are our pets.

I hope that you dont take this the wrong way, just understand where we come from and listen to information that we provide on this forum. ;) Information is the reason why forums exist!

Mr.andMrs.leone, no one is attacking or being rude to you. We don't treat others that was on this forum. :D Everyone just wants to educate you for the fish's sake. When you provide fish with the proper aquarium size, nutrition, etc they will be healthier, happier, live longer and be more enjoyable.
