new little monster

    here is my new little monster. And yes that is what his name is.

    Not a flounder, its FW, see the java moss.

    I am willing to bet its a catfish, one of the yellow's or flatheads.(depending where you live)

    I've seen fw flounders. And I can actually find plenty in the local brackish water ways.

    are they FW or just coming up to the brackish for spawn?

    looks like a winged pleco to me. Wrong body for a flounder. They're rounder and flatter with a short tail.

    looks like a banjo cat too, mine looked the same way at 6am this morning.

    I'm not certain...
    But now that they bring it up, yea, the tail is too long...

    could be a Banjo cat , but it's some sot of pleco or catfish not a flounder.

    It is a
    Thalassophryne amazonica
    a fresh water toadfish. I had quite the time trying to find out about it. An other friend on an other forum gave me the name and when I searched it there it was. :)
    He is happily eating up guppies and ghost shrimp now. And you have to look real hard to find him under the sand.
