They are sharp looking Reds! I had one several years ago (got me back into fish keeping) and I started him in a 10 gallon  and then stepped him into a 29 :( and finally to a 55

I killed him from feeding him/her feeders. Later I got an Albino which died in a move. Later I got 4 babies (1 red, 1 Albino, 2 Tigers) and found my male (a Tiger) as he killed the Red and would assault the Albino whenever it came near the female (the other tiger) even though the albino wanted to be near the female (this was another male). Needless to say I gave the Albino away to my LFS and moved the 2 Oscars into a 125 and tried to breed them! No luck, anyhow I love Oscars but dont do them anymore!

You look like you have a male and a female!

It might be a pair the smaller of the 2 had laid eggs twice but ate them.

The smaller one is a female, they are more colorful than the males and thinner when you view them from the front. Males are rather plain looking and dull in color but are massively wide compared to the females. Males also grow faster and larger in length than the females.

She may have ate them out of lack of experience. Also they may have been sterile because the male did not know to fertilize them.

Put a slate in the tank and cover it slightly in substrate. The fish will clean off the slate and should spawn on it. When they do, you remove the slate as some Oscars do eat the eggs and they WILL eat the babies once they get free swimming. Oscars are NOT caring parents. The most caring point they have is when and if they guard the eggs. You can get some nasty bits when you go for the slate to remove it.

I would almost put money on the guess that you have a pair! I didnt say anything earlier but I knew that smaller one picking at the substrate was a female. The other is a male, I am sure of it!
