Thanks..... We were told it is a sunshine pleco and is rare. ?? I'll have to do some research on it and he's 12 inches long... The ray is about 8 inches and we would love to get another one but we need to wait and get a bigger tank. We are hoping to get 3 to 4 years out of the 110g with the stock that we have. I did toss around adding 1 more severum. We will see. Good luck with the 180g+ Blue Duke Devils what are your plans for it?

A little too expensive if I lose him = ( I wasn't sure what they go for but we did fall in love with his vibrant color... Thats the one thing you have with your salt water tank = )

I like the Ray myself. I thought about getting one and adding it to my discus tank, but my tank is too planted.

steven: Rays here in Virginia sell for $60 for a plain cheap baby ray. The average cost is around $150 which will buy you most all juvenile rays. Of course as they get older and larger so does their price!

I would worry about rays at the least sucking the slime coat off of the discus , if they dont eat them.

I have seen them together and heard that it would work. I was told as long as the discus were larger than the mouths. But agreed that is another reason in addition to no real bottom for a ray in my tank for me not having one.

lets see pictures of these arowana with discus and sizes, I highly doubt it. Keeping things together for a few months to a year is not the same as a lifetime tank mate.

Also, was there ever a reply to what the pleco was?
