Neither. I think live food is better for oscars? No expirience with them though.

I never seen that brand either... the Crude Protein rating is VERY high... It seems like it would be a descent food (sorry, I disagree with live food guido... that is a mis-conception and could be VERY dangerous!)

I actually thought the protein was a bit low.

Re: Is this OK for my Oscars ?

Some of my mix that I have now has Omega One in it... the mix was everything I had (LOTS given to me with tanks etc) It is something like this:

Tetra Cichlid Sticks - Jumbo and Crushed
    Betta Pellets - crushed
    Oscar Grow - Crushed
Goldfish Flake - I only put a bit of this in crushed
    Tetra Color Flake - Crushed
    Tetra Tropical Flakes - Crushed
    Tetra Cichlid Mini Granules

And there were another food or 2 in there

Bloodworms that are frozen there are 2 common brands:
Hikari - Has a pretty high Crude Protein of like 6.8%
Another Brand that comes in a cardboard sleeve - 4.5%

Unfortunately the only place that I regular that has the Hikari is PetSmart... Shopping for food for my fish requires stopping by 2 different stores... PetSmart does not sell the large cans of the Tetra Color Bites or the Live Blackworms...

Fin and Feather does not sell Hikari Frozen Bloodworms.... It sucks that I have to do that... they did say though if I knew I was running out I could order what I need on Mondays and they would get me the Hikari... for some reason it does not sell well there?????

I'm not crazy about Hikari. Dainichi is a great food that I used to feed my Cichlids, it's not cheap though.

Agreed, Hikari frozen bloodworms, and most of it's frozen line is superior to most. The other brands have more fillers ... and of course, that's just my opinion. :)

Re: Is this OK for my Oscars ?

:geek: Nope, I tried the other brand (can't remember the name) and they were hard as heck to pop out of the plastic sheet thingey. Plus would they would come out they would more clump in the center like a knot rather than disperse freely like the Hikari ones.
